Why this design?

Most makers have a set of spare office chair wheels lying around from an old Chair.
>3D-printed wheels rarely offer the same durability or smoothness.
I looked at all the available wheel designs for this case, but none of them really appealed to me, so I decided to create this easy to Print Adapter.

What you need:

- 8× M3×4.5 heat-set inserts (melting nuts)
- 8× M3 screws (5–6 mm)
- A soldering iron to heat-set the inserts
- A screwdriver
- 11 mm furniture / office chair wheels²

The package also includes a version with an M8 mount, in case you don’t want to use heat-set inserts.
You Can still use the Bottom Radiator / fan mount with both designs

I used inexpensive PETG (~€6/kg), which works well for this.

My slicer settings:

- plate adhesion: Raft (Otherwise, cheaper filament may warp)
- Supports: Not required, but tree supports are recommended
- Infill: 70% (60%+ works fine)
- Ironing = on

If your slicer (e.g. Cura) automatically scales the model (for example to 10,000%), go to Preferences → General and disable “Scale large models” and “Scale extremely small models.”

Fit and tolerances:
The hole diameter is 10.8 mm, allowing the wheel stem to be press-fit securely.
The wheel can be removed with force, you can lift the case without loosing a wheel

²: Some chairs (e.g. IKEA) may use 10.2 mm or 10.5 mm Pins.

This model was tested with wheels from a Secretlab chair as well as generic 11 mm wheels from eBay.
